History

Progress S.r.l was founded in 1996. We were the first in Italy to introduce dynamic olfactometry as principal method for the determination of odour concentration of odorous gas samples. The activity of Progress S.r.l. started with the monitoring of odours emitted from composting plants, located principally in the region of Lombardy. The spectrum of the offered services grew rapidly; we introduced new analysis methods and improved the consolidated ones. Besides the services of environmental monitoring we added services of consulting and of environmental modeling. The experience of Progress in the conduction of olfactometric measurements grew simultaneously with the development of the methods and of the laboratory instrumentation. For this reason, Pogress has become the privileged partner in Italy for Ecoma GmbH (European leader as far as concerns olfactometric laboratory instrumentation) and OLFAtec GmbH (one of the most impoartnt olfactometric laboratories in Europe). At the present time, we have customers in all Italian regions, extending from the big multinational company to the little local reality. We also work for several public bodies, such as APAT, some ARPA, regional, provincial and communal administrations. We have experience in a big variety of industrial typologies, from waste or wastewater treatment plants to restoration activities, from chemical industries to tanneries, from farms to food industries.

Partnership


Politecnico di Milano

Since its foundation, Progress operates in partnership with the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering "Giulio Natta"of the Politecnico di Milano, and with its scientific responsible, Prof. Dott. Ing. Paolo Centola. The collaboration with the teaching staff and the researchers of the Politecnico di Milano brought us to work with one of the most intense and profitable research realities of the Italian scientific survey. The fruit of this collaboration has been the development of new sampling and analysis methods, and of new tools for the prediction and evaluation of environmental impact. Another benefit of the collaboration is the continuous update of the laws in force, of the technical norms and of the most advanced studies in the environmental sector.


J.E.P.E. Reseach Center

The consortium J.E.P.E. Joint Effort for Protecting the Environment) Research Center was found in 2006 by Progress S.r.l. with C.R.C. Centro Ricerche Chimiche S.r.l., an environmental laboratory with deep experience in a wide spectrum of environmental monitorings (water, air, soil, noise). Through the J.E.P.E. Reseach Center, Progress S.r.l. will furnish to its customers an integrated and advanced service of environmental monitoring.


SACMI

Progress S.r.l. is mong the first laboratories and research centres in the world in conducting odour monitorings using electronic noses, not only for research aims, but concretely and directly for qualitative and quantitative recognition of odour emissions in the atmosphere. Progress S.r.l. uses electronic noses produced by SACMI.

Progress S.r.l. has started since several years a strict and profitable collaboration with the Advanced Research Center of SACMI. This collaboration was consolidated in 2006 with an agreement for the design, the development and the marketing of innovative electronic noses, specifically designed for the execution of environmental monitorings on field.
