In order to execute olfactometric measurements, Progress S.r.l. makes relies on selected and verified students, who are paid for they work they perform as "examiners" during the olfactometric tests. The olfactometric method provides that, after the sampling of the odorous gas, test are conducted in an ofactometric chamber using an olfactometer and a group of opportunely trained people (examiners or panel members). The examiners are selected according to the requirements of the European Norm EN 13725.

The minimal requirements that are needed in order to take part to the measurements as an examiners are the following ones:

1. Age between 20 and 30.
2. Motivation in order to perform the work conscientiously and availability at least for a complete measurement session.
3. Absolute prohibition of smoking, eating, drinking (except water) or chewing gum for thirty minutes before the test.
4. Extreme care in order to avoid to interfere with one's perception or with the perception of other examiners e.g. because of scarce personal hygiene or, on the contrary, excessive use of perfumes deodorizers, etc.
5. The examiner must present himself in the olfactometric chamber at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the measurement session, in order to get used to the neutral ambient of the olfactometric chamber.
6. In order to obtain a representative sample of the population, the examiner shouldn't suffer of colds r of any other indisposition which may interfere with the perceptive capability (allergies, sinusitis, etc.)
7. The examiner must suit the requirements of the European Standard EN 13725, which prescribes that the responses of each examiner to the reference material for olfactometry (n-butanol) respect precise accuracy and precision requirements. The conformity of the each examiner is verified periodically by tests with n-butanol.
